It’s Not A Party. It Also Not A Get-Together, But A New Year Gathering.
Choose The Right Time We should always remember this tip. When you want to host a great New Year gathering, always plan ahead of time. Don’t be shy, ask your friends to see when they are free. For example, you should email/text/call them to see when they are available. If a majority of the people you invited said that they are free on Saturday night, then you should plan your New Year gathering before dinner or after nine. Always remember not to mention when the event ends. For example: “my New Year gathering starts at 9 until…???”
Rule Of Thumb: No Fewer Than Six, But No More Than Ten. Nowadays, people are communicating with others through emails and social communications. When you are ready to invite others, make sure to send them an invite via emails and/or social communications. There are several keywords that you should avoid when you type that invite. Be honest with me, if you receive an invite that said “Congratulation, you are invited to a New Year’s Eve party, what is the first thought coming to your mind? Exactly, you got the message. Do not refer to the gathering event as a party, affair, shindig, soiree, or hoo-hah. When you type the invite, always refer to your event as a New Year gathering.
Host Etiquette 101 For A Perfect New Year Gathering:
You are fully aware that once you click that send button, people will probably ask you this question: “What I should bring to your New Year Gathering?” What should a good host do? What would SGLforMen say? Simply reply, “Something to drink would be great”. Do not tell/share them your to-do list. For example: “I would love if you can bring XYZ to the gathering event”. Also, do not feel compelled to serve what people bring. They bring it, you serve it. It is that simple.
Several hours before the event, plan the menus: Do you want to serve your guests an extravagant dinner or let them snack and drink the surprisingly delicious cocktails? Why not ask your guests for several great ideas! People want to be comfortable at your event, maybe they can give you some good ideas for your gathering event.
Set your personal mood, may I suggest you…
Creating a personal mood always a plus when it comes to a small gathering. One good tip that I can advise you to do for your event is to light candles. Remember, you should light no less than three but no more than six little candles just before your guests arrive. It can give your guests something that they can talk about during your New Year gathering.
Every successful gathering should always have… MUSIC:
Another good tip to set a personal mood for your gathering is to create your own personal music playlist. Give your guests an option to choose which music that they want to dance/sing at your event. Do not worry about it, just let it play.
People should feel comfortable to serve themselves. Put yourself in their shoes. If you are not comfortable at your own gathering event, would you want to stay longer and enjoy it? It is that simple, let your guests help themselves with more drinks, foods, music, etc..
