Men’s Guide to Reducing and Preventing the Signs of Aging

Men's Grooming TipsIt is summer and we all want our skin to show less signs of aging. When it comes to personal skin care routine, women have it easy. Advertisements for skin care products can easily be spending millions of dollars each year. It is important for us to prevent and reduce the signs of aging.

What should you do to minimize the signs of aging? Here are five easy steps for men to reduce the signs of skin aging. In other word, how can you prevent it:

Take care of your skin

Exfoliate is excellent for your skin. It can easily reduce and prevent the signs of aging. I always exfoliate my skin weekly. Another good tip to remember is to avoid using hot water when you are showering and washing your face. Using hot water can easily strip away your natural oil. This can easily lead to irritate skin, especially in the winter.  Use a humidifier, especially during the dry winter months, to add moisture to your skin.

Protect yourself from the sun

It is summer and everyone wants to get that nice tan. Getting too much harmful UV rays not only cause wrinkles, but it can increase your risk of skin cancer. Minimum SPF 15 works well for most people because most dermatologists recommended. It is also important to buy a broad-spectrum or multi-spectrum protection from UVB and UVA.  Most sunscreens provide UVB protection ratings, but you’ll have to look at the ingredients to determine the effectiveness of the product’s UVA (look for a product with ecamsule, avobenzone or titanium dioxide.)

Eat right

Having the right amount of nutrient maintain your optimal weight based on your height. Choosing the right foods can provide essential vitamins and minerals that can actually prevent and reduce the signs of aging. Vitamin C, found in oranges and peppers, promotes skin elasticity. Beta carotene, found in carrots, apricots and squash, is an antioxidant that increases regeneration of skin cells. Selenium, found in tuna, garlic and broccoli, protects skin against UV cell damage.

Exercise

Regular exercise is important for our health, especially maintaining our weight. Experts suggest that exercise increases blood circulation while giving your skin a clear complexion.Always incorporate aerobic activity with weight training, like jogging or playing basketball, can help you maintain a healthy body weight while prevents the signs of aging.

Drink water

Your body is 70% water, and you lose up to three quarts of water a day when you perspire or urinate. Replacing what you lose by drinking at least six cups of water every day, which will help your body flush out harmful waste materials and act as an internal moisturizer and wrinkle-reducer.
